Help Lift my New Truck. noob questions.
If you stayed with stock gears, you would be bogging your engine and transmission significantly. They just won't have sufficient power through mechanical advantage to get those tires moving like they would with a more appropriate gear ratio. Over time, this stress could result in either transmission failure or engine failures. Changing gears is as much a preventative maintenance upgrade as it is a performance upgrade.
I don't really have any issues with 4x2 guys wanting some lift, even if just for looks. Rams look awesome lifted, we all know that. Many 4x2's are lowered for looks, so what's the difference. I just think you need to make sure that if you do it, do it right, or you will not be happy with how it performs, and you could end up giving yourself a big headache in the long run.

Wow, I'm really appreciating all the help guys! Well, I guess $300-$500 isn't too bad, and I guess I am lucky I drive a 2x4 (for the sake of saving money on gears anyway). Any help with where online I can check out some body and suspension lifts for a 2x4? They are hard to find, I only see 4x4 lifts.
i think fabtech makes a good lift for a 2wd. i dont remember what size it is though. i think it was like 4.5 or something. i would do a body lift to cheap the price down and not screw with your suspensions performance. so i would try to find like a 3in SL and a 2 or 3 inch BL
