Im looking into some mods under the hood. What does anyone think of the airaid throttle body spacer? I have seen peole say that the throttle body spacer idea is a myth, but ive also heard people say that they actually improve HP and MPG

 

DONT DO IT!!!! Its not worth the trouble. That was the first mod i put on my truck and the bigest mistake i made somehow putting it on restricted my air flow and got me less power and worse gas mileage. This only works on non-fuel injected systems or carburated systems. Then when i found out it wasent working i took it off and come to find out now 3 days after i put it on my intake was crack luckly for me I was able to put a new one on myself without taking it to the stealership but was still a $200 dollar mistake.

 

I agree...don't do it. It won't gain you ANYTHING on your multi-port injected vehicle

 

Spacers are right up there with the Jet stageII
Both are junk and will cost performance

So I am new to the forum and what I am getting the vibe on is that the jet stage II performance chip and the throttle body spacer are junk and hurt your performance/ gas mileage?

GREAT [:@] I wish I would have know that 2 years ago when I bought mine. So would you recommend taking it off and putting the stock thermostat back in it?

 

Yes, the Jet chip and throttle body spacers are unhelpful mods. The thermostat can be a good mod though. What one do you have in your truck? 160? 180? 185?

 

I believe I have the 160 in my truck.
