Default Rattling question from rearend?

Just started today, it seems like it won't do it and then all of a sudden, it will rattle like metal bouncing off of metal. My rearend has been making a noise now for a good while now and I'm hoping that it isn't the rearend. A buddy of mine said something about a shrowd could be hitting the rim or something but I don't know. Anyone have a ideas?

Is it the rear-end? Or is it just coming from under the truck? Is there a particular time when it starts doing it? (Bumps...braking...etc)

Yeah like on a turn, if i hit a little bump in the road and holding a steady speed like 35-40 or so. When I gear down and give 'er some fuel, she won't do it. You know what it could be or what to look for??

Well...there are several reasons for rattles under the truck....

- Loose/broken gas tank heatshields
- Bad catalytic converter
- Loose brake dust shield (disc brakes)
- Loose exhaust heat shields
- Broken exhaust pipe mount (the tranfer case one is especially susceptible)
- Broken leaf spring cinches

Those are the first things to check.
