Default RE: headers

In general, these are some good brands...
- Gibson
- JBA
- Borla
- Mopar Performace (if you can find them)

Anything Borla makes is top quality & I know several V10 owners who have Gibsons or JBAs and are VERY happy with them. I plan on getting either Gibsons or JBAs in the near future....unless I can score a set of Mopars [8D]

Edelbrock headers are also decent, though one of the two coatings they use is junk. I'm sure you'll hear all about that (from others) before the end of the day

Nothing wrong with Edlebrock, just dont get the Tri-Tech coating that Shotts got on his. Ive had Edelbrock TES on my 96 for 9yrs, only issue was when trans guys moved my exhaust n I got a leak on the drivers side header right after a tranny rebuild.

The Pacesetters are long tubes with 1 3/4 primary that are only intended for 4x2 sticks, not auto column shifters.

Default RE: headers

Time to pull a shott. I had two sets of Pacesetters. Both had bad flanges and welds. They were sold as Summit brand headers, so don't try them either. I thought that as long as they had 3/8" flanges they should be good. WRONG!!!! Flange is only as good as the weld that attaches the tube. You know it is bad when you call the manufacturer and make them get a set in their hands, and their un-official recomendation is to get a block of wood and a hammer and dent the tube next to the bolt hole to make room for the nut. [sm=rant.gif]

After you realize what a pain it is to install these on our truck, you will want to do it once......Spend a few extra bucks and get good quality stuff.

I have had a set of Gibson's for about 3 years now, and they work great. You really notice a difference in the exhaust note. It sounds great.
