Question: At WOT or like 3/4 throttle My ac will switch from the vents to the defroster below the windsheild and as soon as i let go it comes back to the vents
is this normal???

they are related. A vacuum leak causes your AC to do that....

Wish I could, but I don't have a V8 to reference....and vacuum leaks are usually a PITA to find. [&:]

Wow, I have this exact same problem and was going to post about it tonight. Mine will even backfire once, not loud but a backfire, when I let off of the gas once the ac switches vents. Any ideas on how to track down this vacuum leak?

 

Mine does the same thing. Will this effect anything else or cause problems down the road, or will it just be a pain in the butt??

 

if you put a vac check valve in line right before the fire wall on that littel line your prob will go away.....there was a recall about 6-7 years ago about this mine was doing the same thing and thats what a tech told me at work.
