Dually tires with 4.5" spacer lift
Hi. I just bought 98 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 sport ctd and I also ordered Tuffcountry 4.5" spacer lift kit and Buckstop Outback Bumper.
So, I just thought that how big tires I can put with that lift to 3500 dually?
I also going to remove those dually adapter on the front that I can put same aftermarket rims to the front that are used in 2500 series Dodges. Or is it impossible?
I love this look, without those adapter and dually rims on the front.

Please, answer fast. Becouse I possible buy those tires and rims in US. Dealer is waiting. I live in Finland and I dont even have my dually yet(dealer is soon going to put it in the ship, with or without these tires),so it's not so easy to just say some sizes there.
There aren't a lot of dually owners here, so I don't think you're going to get a correct answer. I've never worked on a dually, so I do not know if it's a different hub assembly or just an adapter.
If it were removable, you would lose your ability to rotate your tires which would definitely cut down on their life.
I'm not familiar with a "spacer" lift kit either. Is that similar to a body lift? What gear ratio does the truck have? That is just an important when determining max tire size as the amount of lift that you have.

I have noticed that. It seems that nobody knows lifting a dually very well.
There are definitely adapters on the front:

My point was, if those adapters are attached to the same bolt pattern as 2500 series dana 60 hub. Is it possible to just put 2500 Ram front rims there?
How it changes my ability to steer my tires?[:-]
The tire is still in same place as it was before? But there is no negative offset on the rim, I dont like it.
I call this Tuffcountry 4.5/5" lift as a spacer lift becouse I think it is a sapcer lift kit? That kit contains only spacers/blocks or whatever, not longer springs right?
So, does someone know is 3500 series front axle bolt pattern same as 2500 without adapters and how big tires I can put to DUALLY with 4.5/5" lift kit?

There are people that know...just not HERE, as the majority of this site is populated by 1/2 ton owners.
You still need to realize that your gear ratio is important when determining how big you can go on tires. If you go too big on tires without the proper gear ratio, it will feel like your truck has no power, and your mileage will go down the drain. There are several people here that can attest to that fact.
As far as that lift, it's more than just coil spacers. I see add-a-leafs and longer arms (which would be required).
And as far as the hub bolt patterns being the same, I couldn't tell ya....and the pictures you have there don't show enough of the hub without the adapter to know for sure. Either way, it shouldn't change your ability to steer. And if you had a non DRW rim with the stock backspacing, it should stick out to the point where it would be on a normal front axle though it might not stick out as far as the DRW rim would. You would have to get a pair of aftermarket rims for the front to move them out further.

Oh, yeah. Sorry It has 4.10 gear ratio.
I dont like ½ton trucks becouse they are all with gas engines and gas costs here about 1.4euros per liter wich is about 6.3bucks per gallon. Pretty much, huh?
Anyway, I dream about 37" allterrains, but 36" would great also.
I am unsure about those bolt patterns also, but I believe that I can figure something.
But well, If 37" dont fit, there's also option for 3" body lift.

I wouldn't go any larger than 36" with only 4.10s, and even that is pushing it.
36" is also pushing the limits of the stock rim as far as width.
The Dana 60 3/4 ton bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5in. Like I said...unsure of the pattern of the 1 ton hub istelf though.
I don't like 1/2 ton trucks either....just because they're not strong enough for any of the things I need to do with a truck (plow snow, tow, haul). I also like my V10 gas motor...just a bit more power than a V8. [8D] 1/2 tons are good for some though....people that need a truck for more utilitarian reasons such as going to Home Depot or moving furniture...or going to the lake.

Ok. But I also ordered tst powermax 3 box,k&n filter box and it has 5" exhaust allready. So I got maybe 350hp at the flywheel. (I also got pyro, boost, trans temp and fuel line pressure gauges)
Next year (when I have cash again) I'm going to buy larger injectors, 5" stacks and dtt trans, so power is not an issue. But I know what you ment. Too long gear ratios with tires of that size are bad.
Well, I bought My Dodge becouse its big, that's my all year around-car
Hah. V10, never going to happen. Just look what gas costs here allready. Diesel is only 1 euro per liter.

You can probably get your answer on the dually spacer question at a Dodge diesel site
