get as much as you can in there. i just did it last week, let it idle and keep pouring as much as you can in while its running. it will stall if you put in too much at a time. try to get at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the can in, then pour enough in to stall it. let it sit for a couple hours. fire it up, drive it for a few seconds, then slam on the gas to get all the crap out. its a good smoke show too.

Did you notice any improvement or difference after running it through your engine?

he's talking about the TB cleaning & air cleaner... take them both off and spray them down with throttle body cleaner and you should be good to go. if your going to do an internal cleaning, you can pour the sea foam down the TB as suggested, or you can use the vacuum line on the side of the intake (brake booster line works great) that way you dont have to tear anything apart.

I used it on mine about a year ago and got almost nothing out. when I swapped the heads I could see why, there was very minimal carbon buildup on the pistons & valves. Chevron with Techron or Union 76 premiums only for my 2000...

well i think i ended up using about 1/2 a can. sprayed directly into the throttle bodu with the enge running at oper. temp and high idle. all kinds of smoke out the back. didnt get rid of any more engine noise but the truck does feel like its running smoother. also shifts smoother now. flooring it getting onto the freeway it no longer searches and fumbles finding the gears. the exhaust noise also seems to have more of a popping sound to it when downshifting. sounds great. i have run about a full tank of gas, 700km since the cleaning.

when you talk about spraying it through a vaccuum line, what line should i use? a picture would be of great help.

any of the vacuum lines attached to the intake manifold are going to suck air/fuid into the intake while the engine is running. most people say use the one going to the brake booster. just disconnect the hose from the booster, and stick it in the can of seafoam. you might have to do it slowly, otherwise you'll probably stall.

Old thread from 5 months ago but didn't want to start a new one and this one fits what I wanted to ask.

First off, nmason I have the same thing with my truck, after I used mopar combustion chamber cleaner, I've been hearing my exhaust popping while going back down. Sometimes when I'm leaving a parking lot I will get it goin, low speed like 10 mph, then shift to neutral and rev a bit just to hear that noise lol, i love it.

About the brake booster line. I picked up a can of seafoam today, I want to use that now see if I still get lots of smoke after using the mopar one. I'm still confused as to where this line is and how do you take it off? I know when looking at the truck from the front its on the right side of the TB. the can of sea foam says to put in 1/3 to 1/2 into the engine and the rest into the fuel. How do you go about putting it in? I'm assuming its liquid, so just measure it out then pour it slowly down or should I let the line suck it in? Plan on taking the TB off and cleaning it tomorrow but I want to use this seafoam through the brake booster vac. Is there really a difference between putting these products through the TB and vacuum?
