Default Need Exhaust Advice

I have a 98 dodge ram with a 318. A few months ago I had a Flowmaster exhaust system put on it and I love it. The 40 series muffler really rumbles! Well now I've got greedy and want more sound. I've heard the best way to do that is to get headers, but I don't know what style or brand I want. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. Any other ideas on how to make my truck louder and gain power would be appreciated. Oh and I don't want to sound stupid or anything but what does it mean when people say their truck is "gutted".
Thanks a lot guys!

Headers have been discussed several times. If you do a search, you'll find quite a bit of info. Here's the latest discussion: https://dodgeforum.com/m_482740/tm.htm

If you want louder, get a 30 series Flowmaster...or a 20 series.

Gutted means they took the material out of the inside of the catalytic converter. You wouldn't be able to do that without getting an o2 sensor simulator, since your truck is OBDII.

where can you get an o2 simulator? and how much do they cost? and what would that do for emissions?

www.thefastman.com <-- He sells o2 Simulators.

You only need one when you remove your catalytic converter. And even then, you ONLY need one if you have an oxygen sensor AFTER your catalytic converter. It keeps the CEL from being set (because the computer thinks your converter isn't working) and messing with your fueling.

headers and a high flow cat would probably give you enough sound if you didnt want to gut your cat and buy a sim.
