wide tires
What would I need to have done in order to switch from 285's (32.8 I think) to smaller (265) wide tires? What would I need to buy to have everything fit properly. Let me know if I need to supply rim and any other info, I'll check it out. I bought the truck last August and all I am aware of is the previous owner put on bigger tires, I don't know if he changed anything else down there, although the rims look stock.
awesome, thanks guys. Anyone know some tough looking wide tires? What companies should I be looking at when it comes to tires? Also, from switching to 285's to 265's with the same 3.55 gears, my gas milage should increase a bit correct? (is there anyway to check what gears you have other than looking at the sticker on the truck, mines on the underside of the hood and says something like 3.5 axle ratio, perhaps he also changed the gears but the way it performs I doubt it)
If he changed the gears, there's no way you could know without taking the rear axle apart and counting the number of teeth on the gears.....or find out who owned the truck before you and ask him/her. I doubt he changed them for 285s.
Your mileage should go up a bit, depending on what type of tires you put on.

What do you mean what type of tire I put on? Like off roaders or street?

You will also get poorer mileage with NEW tires than you will get with slightly or half worn ones.
