what u basically need to find out is if your truck has an EGR valve or not. if u do have it only 94-96 intakes WITH EGR will fit. if u dont have an EGR any non EGR intake 96-01 will fit. look at your passenger side exhaust manifold if near the very back of it there is a tube going up towards the intake u have an EGR valve.

My vehicle does not have an EGR.

Only one thing that bothers me about "any" manifold from 96-01 fitting. The Hughes plenum repair kit has different part numbers for 98-03. I was wondering what the difference is...

Basically, the difference is what zoomzoom said, on the 93-97 trucks the EGR was located on the intake manifold just behind the barrel shape of the intake. Where as the 98+ trucks have the EGR located behind the driver's side cylinder head(both still have EGR's). Just reach to the back side of your manifold behind the barrel, and in front of the distributer, the manifild will either have nothing there or their will be an EGR, the 96 trucks have the EGR on the maniflod, there aren't any tubes from the exhaust running up to the manifold anymore, the exhaust comes directly from the head.

damn so the 98 and up do have an egr but not in connection with the intake at that point. all those parts counter/junkyard "specialists" where like do got an Egr valve or not and where saying after about 97 dodge did away with it. now i know the real deal cool. the hollander parts exchange manual for the other guy hear quotes and non egr manifold being the ones from around 97-01 will interchange though thats the bare bones manifold that will fit umay need to swap stuff attached to the manifold like in my case with the engine i put in it came out of a crashed truck everything was basically still on it the parts guy said any 94-01 motor will fit will i took the first one back cause there was no EGR on the intake well i ended up getting a motor with 40,000 instead of 60,000 and the distrubutor in place cause they usually ripped that off but he was right any 94-01 motor will fit but thats means just that the bare bones engine block and heads not add on parts like the intake and exhaust manifold. if youe stock on is different say like mine with an egr u gotta ripp the intake off and swap them so everything is compatible. check car-parts.com and type in your info and what u need and it will bring up all the used and junkyard parts that the hollander industry standard interchange manual says will fit that places have availiable to buy. DONT GO TO DODGE they want 600 for a stock intake yet there performance intake is only like 400 w the adapter package, sway away from it the performance on that is cause i got it and lost a whole lot of bottom end and really lost top end to where the manifold was supposed to increase stack manifold my truck toppped out at 125 "performance manifold" top end barely 105 and no more wicked crazy holeshots either. i believe that manifold was made for like a 2wd dakota r/t or retro fit magnum motor swap into a light car. hope i helps some

sorry i really read ur firsat post. dodnt weld the plenum just go to ur local parts place i went to pep boys. get the fel pro complete intake kit for whatever year your current manifold is from so if its a 95 engine but has a replaced manifolf from a 99 tell the parts know it all u have a 99 dodge do not even mention the engine is not the same your. he will baffalled confused and started rambling and mumbling crazy talk. Fel pro actually makes the updated gasket for dodge so why buy from the stealership get it for 34 bucks withh all the intake gaskets and as long as its fel pro brand u will have the updated gasket which is indeed i beleive i true this really is going to fix all the many plenumn concerns. it took me like 5 hours i did go to the stealership and bought new plenumn bolts and intake bolts i think it was worth the like 20 dollars cause the plenumn bolts d o have some locktite crap on them new and i know i rather them stay tight for a long long *** time for 10 more dollars upfront. all my intake bolts where all ****ted up i think the previous owner of my engine lived rather 2 feet from the ocean or in a state that loves rock salt cause that motor was real rusty for 40,000. but hey just get the fel pro complete intake set for whatever year ur manifold is buy a gallonm of coolant at leat splurge for them plenum bolts or lock tight and get a 12 pack of beer abd set a day aside dont go nuts with the beers untill u tourque all the plelumn and intake bolts it sounds like half the fix is tightening these freakin bolts is this very engineered and specific way. i mean i hope those enginereers are donr the trial and error approach cause it only took what 14 years and fel-pro and like a bizzilon warrenty repairs to figure out that wow if we spend an extra 20 cents on a real gasket and we tourque these bolt thingies down in this like 9 step process, the whole plenumn issue can be put to sleep for good. to bad they figureed this out right afer the last what 03 magnum motor made went out of warrenty how amazingly convient. all i know i s if u do it yuor self that 40-50 bucks well be the best 50 dollars u will ever spend on any car. that dumb gasket creates so much crap if i didnt know better i thought it would be at least a grand just to begin to get that motor runnin right. who the hell would have ever that a 10 cent gasket was the cause of all that and it took the same engineers that had the brillant idea for a plenumn plate and then add on a cheap paper gaskets didnt paper gaskets go out in the early 90's damn they should have had that figured out in like 10 mins not 14 yaers and 4 TSB's later. yet in there 95 sales brochure that hype the use of visteon or some carzy synsthetic valve cover gasket that not only will last for ever but can be reused, will damn let me shake that engineers hand . wont ever have to do a ten minute valve cover gasket just 3 plenumns gaskets untill someone steps up and redesigns there 10 cent paper wonder gasket. i guess the only repair or whatever that facinated me the most was when i smeared rain-ex all over all my windows i was likee this crap cant be for real but for 99 cents lets lets make another billioaire well damn yes u may need ti reapply it two three times a month but talk about water beaded off its like its pouring as hard as ever the wipers lost this battle miles ago but with this rain-ex u just drive faster untill at some speed the water will fly off so fast i turn the wipers off cause there doin nothin but getting in the way. its like engineeriering marvel some waxy like synthetic teflon like crap that probably cost 5 dollars for 55 gallon drum can allow u not to just drive in the rain and feel safe and relaxed but if it rains harder and rain-ex is slouchin off no problem just go faster sometimes i found in real heavier thunderstorms wher the interstate is all park on the shoulder in doin like 95 mph and i can see perfect its like what rain i not seein no rain out my window. blah blah im probabally the only person that can get so excited about rain-ex a plenumn gasket topic thread whatever gets turned into how awesome 99 cent rain-ex wipe is. ill shut up now!!!
