Default additives/cleaners

Talking with friends and fellow ram owners recently, i've been hearing alot of stuff about Lucas oil products and fuel additives. I've been beginning to notice some slight gear slipping, and am wondering if "transmission fix" in a bottle will actually tighten the shifts up. Also wondering if the fuel system cleaner, if any from any brand/company is worth the time.

I know there are tranny system cleaners that you would run thru the system for about 5 minutes before changing out the fluid from the complete system. This stuff works much like oil system cleaner where it grabs hold of drit and gunk and stuff and when you drain the fluid all that crap goes along with it. If there isnt alot of build up, this type of product can make shifting smoother since there is less gunk floating around. How pink is your tranny fluid color? Having tranny fluid that is really burnt has less lubrcation, less cooling effiencies and less varnish inhibators.

But so far I havent used that product from lucas yet. I have started using the Lucas fuel cleaner but I havent noticed much of a change. It probably is doing its job of cleaning out the jets, heck, I dont even keep track of fuel milage. But I will keep using it since I dont want to have my jets replaced because they got all gunked up from years of neglect.

I am also on my next oil change going to try the Lucas oil additive and see if it helps with my slooow oil consumption between oil changes. I got a feeling that the rings are starting to get worn, since there very minimal oil residue in the plenum.
