Default amp and subs installed.

well it took me about 2 hrs to install my amp and sub, along with the wiring and such.. not bad for a novice installer.

https://dodgeforum.com/photo.asp?pho...Type=1&apage=1

anyways.. the question i have is well, what music is the best to play with subs, i mean, i like hard rock, but not all have decent bass., and i absolutely hate rap.

my wiring, yeah, it may look crappy in those pictures, but I did tie them up and clean them and make it look neat and tidy.

also, comments are greatly appreciated.

its a dodge custom, it was specifically designed for the ram1500s.. it was at the local audio shop in town here.

i appreciate that. and i found that mudvayne, and similar, are just enough.. other than having to go to pick up a cat from a forestfire's path.. i was listening to it.. and it must say.. im loving every beat that comes out of there.. and the best part is that I dont need to worry about sharing it with anyone outside the truck... unless the windows and doors are wide open.. anyways yeah... i think it turned out great. saved myself about 2-400 in labour costs doing it myself, and it gave me more practice,.. im starting to get to be a pro at stereo installs.

Try listening to Evanescence - Bring me to life. The intro is awesome if you have good subs and highs. I don't have anything installed in my new Ram2500, only in my older Breeze running 2 12" Infinity's at about 1000 watts. After 15 years of doing this crap I am partially tone deaf....just my excuse for the old lady..... Older tunes may surprise you. I have some Eagles that really sounds nice...Have fun. GP

Sinister,

What size are the subs? How much leg room do you have for passengers? (I know it depends on how far the fronts seat are) When installing your amps on the back of the cab, does this cause the seat to stick out or can you feel the amps when sitting in the back? What about heat issues? Sorry for asking, I am just trying to get ideas on planning my install. Also, can you provide any contact info on the place you got the box? I may be wanting one of those. Thnx GP

www.hifisoundconnection.com is where i got my downfiring box. they do some pretty good deals as long as you're willing to do the work yourself.

yeah that install looks nice dude. i personally like where you mounted the amp. pretty slick.

yes! KICKER!! kicker is the best ive known in car audio, i absolutely love them. they last forever too.

that looks like a really nice set-up. should sound great!

i dont know if you like it but try some puck rock, (NOT the wussy, whiney stuff) i meant true punk. like Blink-182 and Sum41. they sound good on systems

its too bad you hate rap though, cause thats where that system would shine.

10" subs

legroom on drivers side is about 8" very little, but hey, I rarely have passengers in the back anyways.

the seat doesnt stick out, however, if you install it as high as I did there, you'll notice that you cant raise the seat. (which another good way to keep it all safe).- heat issues dont seem to be a problem, there is about 1" +/- room for airflow, it seems to be enough.... i'll definately take a close look when I do my next edmonton run. , if I remember I'll try to get as many details about that as possible.. remember if you do mount anything to the cab, be sure to silicon the holes.

as for contact info. i bought mine at a local audio dealer in town, and I dont think you'd want them to ship from here for the cost.
check your local dealers for sure as well.

@all
thanks for the suggestions, I'll add some to my next burn list.
