I'm looking to possibly clear 33's, and if nothing else, just make my 01 look better. Are the 2" leveling kits on ebay (particularly the one in the link) any good? Does anyone have experience with these coil spring spacers, and also, how difficult are they to install? Will I need to buy a spring compressor, or any other unique tools?

Ive got 33x12.50x15.5 Wildcat AT's on my 99 Qcab CTD with no leveling kit. There is a little rub at a hard left turn and at full drop when I am off roading, but nothing that has done any damage to the truck or tires. I personally like the look off the 33's with the stock suspension. Will put on a 3in lift if I decide to run 35's in the future.

I have those exact ones. They are fairly easy to install and you don't need a spring compressor. The link that don_ripley posted is exactly what you need to do. It took me about an hour and a half by myself. Just give me a shout if you run into problems. Also, to date they have given me no problems at all.

 

but wait a minute, lawman says you'll need new shocks (which seems logical), but folks here have said they used the stock shocks, and top gun's website says you can use the stock hardware!

so which is it?

 

if you dont offroad you dont really need shocks.





If you have an offroad package than you already have 33s. You shouldnt need the leveling kit to fit them

 

I have used my factory shocks with the leveling kit for almost a year now with no problems.

 

thanks...i just got my kit in yesterday. i'll install tomorrow and post pics...and i'm going to keep the stock shocks. 1 more question...a friend of mine is trying to sell damn near new bfg all terrains for reeeel darn cheap...but im just not sure if they'll fit...does anyone know if I can get a 285 on the 17" offroad rim? the tires are 285/65r17s...and i can get 'em for about 140 apiece. so i reeeeeeely want these tires to fit.

 

thanks for the replies guys, I'm not worried about fitting tires, I'm putting 20s with BFG's on next week, and they'll only be 0.3" bigger.
I'm more interested in just leveling the truck out.

 

RJlovesbeer, I have 285/70/17 BFG MTR's on the 17" off road rims with no problems.
