RE: well crap.
Check that your gas cap is tight, that is the most likely cause.
Here is more on that code:

RE: well crap.
Hopefully that did fix it, but I would give it a few more days before you call it fixed for good. I have had that code on my Mustang (turned out to be a bad purge valve), and when I was troubleshooting, I could reset the computer and not see the code pop up again right away (so I would think I had finally fixed it). Then a few days later, it would return.
Glad we could help though.

I agree. It usually takes a bit of driving before a code comes back (if the problem hasn't been fixed). Especially if it's an evap system problem...which my least favorite type to troubleshoot...next to grounding problems [:'(]
Hopefully it was just the gas cap though

Something else to keep in mind, is that the seal on the gas cap itself could be going bad.....My 2000 Dakota Sport had this problem. I'd tighten the cap down and the light would go off....hour later it would be back on. The rubber seal on the gas cap was faulty. They replaced the gas cap and voila....no more problemo.
Evap system errors are a royal pain, but 5 outta 10 times.....its usually a bad gas cap or a bad seal....unless your a turbo and then all bets are off...
