REVO vs. BFG allterrain
First off: sorry. god knows there's enough tire posts/questions on here, but I couldn't resist.
I'll be replacing my worn duellers next week, and I am truly torn between these bridgestone dueller AT revo's and the good ole BFG's. I was not very impressed with my last set (regular bridgestone dueller at's, not REVOS), so i'm a little apprehensive to everything I hear about how great these REVOS are. I love the look of the BFG's...and I love 1/2 the stuff I hear about their on and off road capability, but I don't like all the bad stuff I hear about their wet handling. Any 2cents from owners of these tires is greatly appreciated.
I do alot of highway driving, back and forth 4 times a year from Tuscaloosa, AL to South Florida (800 miles each way). But I still need an aggressive tread for, ya know, when I get to my treestand in bama and when I get lost in the everglades at home. thanks ya'll

I don't own either of those tires, but I did look at both the REVOs and BFGs when I was going to replace all 4 of my tires with All-terrain style tires. Everything I read about the REVOs was good. The BFGs...not so good. They're both good tires, but from what I read about them...the REVOs fair much better, especially when maintained (pressure check, rotation, etc.). Just my .02 about them.
Not sure you'll find many REVO owners here, but there are at least a few BFG owners.
www.tirerack.com is a good place to read reviews for tires.

I love my Revos. My brother uses BFGs and swears by them, but hte truck that he put them is in my garage being rebuilt after hydroplaning into a cement barrier :-)
I never had any wet weather or snow troubles with my revos. I have ran them on dirt trail and they seem to have a stiffer side wall then the BFGs which cause for a stiffer ride. I would buy another set of Revos before the BFGs, that's my 2 cents.

I love my BFG All Terrains. Wet weather handling seems good to me, much better then the Michelins I had on before, and those were street tires designed for wet and dry pavement. I have found that they seem to perform very good in dry dirt, wet dirt/minor mud, and slushy snow. My only complaint is ice. I have definetly had better tires on ice. I have heard they are not the best in mud either, but I have used them on muddy dirt roads and trails, and thought they did very good. Must be deep mud they were talking about, but if that is your thing, I have heard nothing but good about the BFG Mud Terrains. The main thing that attracted me to them was the tread life. My father-in-law uses nothing but BFG All Terrains on his pickups, and they all have gotten outstanding milage. His '99 Ram put over 80,000 miles on a single set. I have had mine on for over a year now, and the tread is as good as new still, barely looks like any has worn off. Also, they were one of the few tires in the size I was looking for that came in a D load rating. Most other off-road tires in that size were only C rated.
Hmm, I've been considering the All-Terrain KO's, but never thought to look at reviews...we sell BFG at work and everyone seems to like them...but those Revo's got quite a better review at Tire Rack, which has now got me to research them.
Does anyone know where I may find a spec chart for the Revo's? Selling BFG's at work, I'm sure I've got info there about max. load capacity...the thing is, I can't find load capacity for the Revo's online, not even Bridgestones site. The 285's are only a load range 'D', and the truck requires an 'E'...but going from the (factory size, currently has 245's) 265's/E to a 285/D, I'd like to know the difference in capacity. Hope I explained that good enough, it looks like a mess
Aoplogies for the mini-hijack, but it's Revo-related, plus others may want the info too
