Default No engine sound??? What the..???

Hey guys, i was wondering if this was normal. When im driving my truck on the freeway it works fine until I hit about 60-70 mph then my engine sounds like it turns off. I give it more gas but I still can't hear the engine. It sounds like it's giving up. Granted it gains speed extremely slowly. Also my truck never goes above 3,000 rpm. Is that normal?? Whats wrong with my truck????

Kinda hard to guess from what you put up - but if it won't go over 3000 rpms & has no power I would suspect a bad catalytic converter. These trucks are notorious for having the cat go bad. To explain - basically the cat comes apart inside and clogs up the exhaust pipe which chokes the engine. Have someone rev the engine while you stand near the exhaust out let and if it has a "hissing" noise that doesn't sound normal its probably bad. You will have almost no power or acceleration - which is what you describe.
There is more info on this in the "SEC GEN INFORMATION" thread at the top of the page...
