Default Corrosion on Battery Terminal

Anybody know what causes this? I never had a problem with this until the first time I removed the negative battery cable a few months ago. Now The negative post and clamp start to corrode the green/white color. I cleaned it the last time I removed it and it did it again and I am sure that its tight. Should I get some of that gel they have for 99 cents at a parts store? Thanks for any help

White lithium grease is what I use Works like a charm...I've used that red battery spray before...until I did it on a Ranger one evening...the truck stayed in the shop overnight waiting for some parts, and by morning, it showed a little corrosion already.

I believe it has to do with a natural reaction between the lead, the air we breathe, and the release of gasses from the battery...for whatever reason, Chrysler corp. vehicles are the worst, by far.
