That's what I put on mine. I could probably type more than you want to read about these headers. Pace setter makes them for summit. I had one heck of a time getting them on, and they leak, probably b/c it was my first time w/ headers, but then again a mechanic friend of mine had the same problem, and he has experience. I'm planning on taking them of and getting them coated (so is my mechanic on his). They do help though. For the money, their hard to beat.

No. And I haven't seen them even glow a little bit. I think they radiate heat kinda bad, definately more than the stock ones. I've had them almost a year now, and put a lot of miles on them.

I think that header wrap does help. My mechanic buddy put some on the driver side header cause it sits real close to the, crap what's it called, big round thing that has something to do with the brakes that sits right against the cab. He was worried about the heat affecting it. I haven't put any on but i'm thinking about it till i get them coated.

I know there are a few members here that have had problem with Summit/Pace Setter headers cracking.

IIRC, one member had 2 sets crack on him [&:]

I'd go with JBA or Gibson if I were buying headers...or Dynomax. All make excellent quality exhaust headers!

I just looked at some headman headers on the summit website and was wondering if theyd just bolt right up or if other mods are necessary. They are the shorty street headers

Trash!!!!!!!
They are pacesetter's and I tried two sets. After it was all done I put the F*@#!ng stock manifolds back on.

MY TURN SHOTT............

If you really want to try a set, I'll send you the leaking set I have if you pay for shipping. I keep them around as a reminder of the scraped knuckles, hours working off a stepladder, and the money wasted that by the time I got done trying different gaskets and bolts realized it was the weld leaking and no refund..............

I had thought about the Headmans, but was waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig. I had enough trial and error practice with the Summit crap. After hearing how well everyone has replied about the Gibsons, I might just spend the extra money for those if I get around to it. Still have mental scars from the last episode and don't want to mess with.
