Default What size is the freakin hub nut?

I guess the subject line sums it up. I have to replace the drivers side axle u-joint and found I don't have a big enough socket. So does anyone know what size I need to get from Sears?

Thanks.

AutoZone and AdvanceAuto carry them too. I bought mine at Auto Zone for $9.99 I thought it was 1 3/4" but after I wacked all the grime and rust off it was 1 11/16". You also need a torque "impact" wrench capable of 175 ft/lbs. I tried a 2 ft braker bar and my fat 250lb behind and broke the bar. If you want you can also take out the 3 12 point 14mm bolts off the hub and pull it out as one whole unit. Just be carefull when pressing out the u-joint that you don't damage the hub.

see this....
http://www.pavementsucks.com/tech/hub.php

getting the bearing/hub out of the knuckle is a pita. some suggest beating on sacrificial bolts from the rear. others suggest using a shallow socket and extension and the steering as a press. someone else claimed to have replace the u-joint w/o pulling the axle.
do searches at pavementsucks, here, dieseltruckresources, etc for more info. good luck. post results.

It's done. After reading everything I was ready for a fight with the hub/bearing. But I removed the 3 bolts, wiggled the hub by hand, and off it came. It took about 45 minutes total to do. Again, thanks for the info guys.
