Help with FIPK
Hi,
Im in the process of installing the K&N FIPK and its not going well. Is it just me or are the directions horrible? There are steps out of order or at least the pictures dont match. Also, they dont exactly help with using the right hardware. Its been two hours and all i have managed to do is relocate the emission equipment.
I was hoping someone could help me with the install. Im having trouble getting the heat shield that the tube goes through installed. I dont know how or where to install the "L" bracket because of the bad directions. Also, I was looking at Ron Barthelt and his pictures of his install dont match mine at all. Most noticeably he has his "Z" bracket in a totally different place.
Thanks

RE: Help with FIPK
The instructions for my 2000 absolutly sucked. I had to throw them away and put it on however i could get it to fit. One difference I noticed was that the overflow reservoir for the antifreeze on mine stuck out, whereas older dodges, i guess, sat notched into the fan shroud. I didn't use all of the pieces, but i feel comfortable with how it is installed. The lines for the a/c are supposed to run through a square hole in the heat shield, but mine weren't close, again i blame it on the reservior sticking out. Like i said, i just threw away the instructions and put it on however i could get it to fit. it also took longer than i am willing to admit for a "30 minute bolt-on".
