Default Paint overspray

When i bought my truck I notice that there were little black spots on the tailgate but figured it was no big as I could just buff them out. However I am finding that that is not the case. It appaewrs that they are little black spots of paint on the paint as well as on the chrome of the rear bumper. Would like to clean them off to get my tuck ready for the shows. Does anyone have any ideas of what i could use to get it off without damaging anything. Thanks.

Rubbing compound ... the white stuff ... on a rag ... by hand (a finger or two).

Anything chrome can probably be done with a wheel but for painted surfaces ... nuh uh. [sm=smiley21.gif]

Try the Meguiar's clay bar, it does a great job.

I think the rubbing compound might be a little too agressive

One thing that I recommend is get a spray bottle and spray it with water often, it cleans out the debree and does a better job. remember not too much pressure let it glide first then depending on how you're seeing the results apply more or less pressure.

After that a nice coat of wax and you're done.

Thanks everyone. I'll try those and see what comes of it. Hopefully they will work.

Try a Mr. Clean Eraser pad, available at most any supermarket with kitchen cleaning supplies. Just a little water and this pad will remove paint and grime that is not embedded in the finish. I use for cleaning my aluminum wheels as well.

Good luck
