Default Keyless + Alarm = Possible?

I was thinking about having the dealer install a factory alarm and keyless setup in my truck or is that not possible cause i really dont care for anything aftermarket in the field of opening my doors and alarm, i like what i have seen on the stock oem alarms they work just fine, and what would that cost$$$ cause anything too high makes me angry, and you wont like Ram_Sport when hes angry

i dont see why they couldnt..if thats what your going for... to a certain extent .. our trucks are almost identical.. regardless of year.. (to a certain extant i will reiterat) they all start off as the same bare bone stock applications and then are built to suit from there.. wouldnt hurt to ask your local dealer to see what they could do for ya.. if they cant let me know..i know of a few good DIY brands of keyless/anti-theft that are like OEM

i figured what came stock w/ our 97' ram would work it was a lock unlock remote, plus alarm was built in i think, but the keyless entry would make life a lil easier... alarm would be a bonus the horn is already there and any of the dodge products i see w/ alarm = factory horn beepage..

You can buy a the factory kit from online parts sellers like www.makeitmopar.com or www.chryslerpartsdirect.com It runs around $120ish if I remember right. They don't look too hard to install at all, as long as you have factory power locks I'm sure they're at least $300 from the dealer PLUS labor

to clarify a few things... they really didnt come with alarms persay... really just a panic system and antitheft and im not sure of the details of either since my "antitheft" really serves no purpose.. go with some keyless entry and youll be happy..

if you have factory door locks.. (power) i wonder if it did have keyless entry and the prior owners lost the fobs for the truck... situations like that have been known to happen alot and dealers are too crappy/lazy to order new fobs and program them..

it seams kinda weird to me that if you ahve power locks i would wrecking you would have keyless... and thats just assuming you didnt buy the truck new

It's sort of an alarm. It will go off if it's in "active" mode and go off when you jar the vehicle. It's a lot like GM's system though...the one on my 99 Pontiac Grand Prix is bizarre. It will set off the horn "alarm" if the system is "active" and you try the door handle, but I can reach into the door with a coat hanger and unlock the doors...and not set it off at all [&:]

I couldn't find the part number for the system. The one I found is 82203763, but it comes up as a Sebring system [&:]

Here are the programming instructions: http://dodgeram.org/tech/mods/electric/keyless_prog.htm

Power locks doesn't always mean keyless either My truck has power locks, but no keyless module....and mine is an SLT Laramie...in other words, top o the line [8D]

Our Intrepid has power locks as well...but no keyless [:'(]
