I was going to upgrade my 96 360. Does an Air Raid CAI work much? Does a throttle body spacer do anything? Whats the best muffler for sound and power

throttle body spacers do jack diddly for the 360. it's a multiport injection system so the fuel is never passing through the throttle body like a carberator does. it mixes directly in the combustion chamber.

magnaflow, flowmaster, dynomax (too new yet), all make good mufflers. all will help with power and free up about 10 peak horses. just more on a matter of which you want to spend the money on.

airaid CAI and K&N CAI help in the upper RPM range but don't do much in the low end. some but not more than 3 or 4 hp. (butt dyno won't notice much) you will hear more air rushing into the engine than stock.

You mean the motor? [&:] It has no influence on the exhaust note if that's what you're wondering. [>:]

oh really. I had read it gave the truck an overall deeper sound. Oh well. I guess the slight increase in power would be worth it. Thanks for your help

Actually, I disagree on the exhaust note... think about it, a stock intake can only flow so much before its maxed out... put in something that is going to flow more and your exhaust will sound different when it's flowing closer to it's peak.

every intake kit I put on has changed the exhaust in some way (performance exhaust that is) the more freeflowing it is, the more noticeable it will be. plus the intake will have it's own sound as well.
