Default transfer case growl

Hey, folks! I'm new to the forum and I have a concern. I own a 1997 Ram 1500 4X4 with about 130,000 miles on it. Every summer, I travel from Milwaukee, WI to New Hampshire. 1200 miles on the highway one way!
Before I began my journey, I took my Ram to my 5 star dealer for an oil change, transmission flush and fill, etc. While in the shop, they called to tell me that my transfer case seal was leaking. (It was true, the evidence was on my garage floor!)
So after mucho dinero, I got my Ram back and head back east. Just as I'm pulling up (literally that last 500 yds.) I was going about 10 mph on a slight uphill grade when I hear this growling sound coming from underneath me. As soon as took my foot off the gas, it stopped. The next day, the same thing happened. I haven't driven a lot since I got here, but what little driving I did, I tried to replicate the sound. Nothing.

Anybody got a clue? Help! I don't want my Ram to die on the NY State Thruway in August with 2 cats and 2 dogs and my wife inside.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what would do it either....and why it would just go away, which it wouldn't if it was something serious. You should be fine for the trip back. Just take it easy on the throttle...just to be safe

i had a minor leak, cleaned and dregreased. used some black silicone to seal on outside, hasnt leaked since, If you get down there and look real close you can see like stress fractures in your casing.........THIS IS NORMAL........also since you had no problem or sounds from transfer case but you did have tranny serviced are you 100% sure its coming from transfer case?
