clutch fan removal?
Tip for removing the fan clutch. Just did it on my V-10 today.
Take a ratchet strap and wrap it around the water pump pulley. Turn the pulley counter clockwise till it stops on the balancer. Take a 1 1/2" long wrench and place it on the nut of the fan clutch. Now for the fun part, take a big hammer an hit the wrench till it breaks the nut loose. Might take a few hits. Make sure that if the wrench lets go, that there is nothing in the way to be damaged.

i have had the "zip tie" looking things on the mirada for years now, and I have never had any problem, so that is what i used on the ram. for the overflow and windshield washer fluid bottles, i bought an aftermarket washer pump, and two universal bottles and mounted them elsewhere.
Hi guys,
2001 Ram 1500 5.9. Is the clutch fan bolted onto the water pump R/H or L/H threads? I have theengine out and all the belts off. How can I hold the pully from turning to losten the nut?
Thank you,
Brad (I won't do that again)
