ok so i'm getting this wierd clicking noise coming from the engine when i rev the engine up past 1800 rpms. it litterally sounds like taking a bic pen and clicking it in and out really fast.

i was thinking it might be rocker slack but not sure. wondered if anyone else had similar sounds.

 

could be a lifter failing... that would make that kind of noise. get a mechanics stethescope and put it on the head/intake area and try to narrow it down some.

it was weird though i started up the truck this morning and tried to see if it would do the clicking again. and it didn't. so now i don't know what is going on. i think it might have had something to do with me driving two hours up north to another city and then back down again. might just be a time thing...

i'm lost at this point. i'll see if i can narrow it down though.
