I'm looking into getting an Alarm/ Remote Start for my truck. I need to know if I have a key coded ignition on my '98 1500 or not. The alarm I'm thinking about it the Compustar 2WSS-AS.

Are you asking if they put RFID tags in the keys so the key has to be within X number of inches of the ignition in order to start the truck? They didn't do that crap back then. My wife's Corolla has that but it's an `06. Did they even HAVE RFID back then?
