Default V-10 Question

I pulled my motor out last weekend (what a PITA). Because the crank was siezed solid, I could not get the flywheel bolts off. So the torque converter had to come out with the motor, adding to the fun. But yea, I was able to get my motor out without too much other difficulty, I thought it was going to be worse than what it was.

After pulling the oil pan off, I noticed black nylon pieces, that were once shaped in a cylindical form, now in the bottem of hte oil pan. They looked like they were off of a sensor like the crank or cam sensor. But pulled both out and they were fine.

This question goes out to The Burning Rom (you have all the awnsers), I have not had time to pull the timing cover off, nor have I heard if the cover was pulled off by the owner of the shop, but my question is if there is any other parts in the motor that would have any nylon/plastic pieces that could get into the oil? Could this be parts of the timing chain sliders? Is there a sensor im missing? I pulled the cam sensor off the front of the timing cover and the crank sensor off the side of the block.

I want my V-10 back, At least I have another to fill the void, you know the 5 spd isnt all that bad, but my 96 was rigged for work

Default RE: V-10 Question

I'm not sure if the V10 has timing chain sliders. I haven't had the front cover off one (yet), but in all the reading I've done about dissasembly I haven't read anything about installing/removing them and I haven't seen them in any pictures.

Without seeing the pieces I can't really guess where they came from. A sensor would have been my first guess, but you've already pulled the two out of the block. [&:]
