Default new guy wanting to learn

i just bought a 2000 5.9L ram with the off road package. i have minimal mechanical experience but am very interested in learning more about my truck. What are some things i could do to familiarize myself with my truck and learn more about maintaining and modifying it.

the best thing you can do to learn all that is keep reading posts on here. I have learned soooo much from this site. Another good thing to do would be to download the service manual posted on the site and look it over.

haha, you will learn alot on here, just pay attention. i cant believe how much ive learned. just be warned you will become a ram-a-haulic and go crazy. or at least i did. when i first got my truck i only planed on maybe and exhaust system, sound system and maybe some window tint. now look, i have lift, gears, locker, all kinds of interior mods, performace mods, and now im ripping into the engine and building one beast of a motor.

where are all those RAM GIRLS?????????? I SERIOUSLY NEED TO FIND ONE!!!!

yeah.. you'll really become familiar with the truck by reading posts and going through the manuals. but another way to learn is just to crawl under there and really just start looking around and figuring out what things are. do your own oil changes, windshield wipers, fluids, everything. the more you do the more you will learn. me i've learned most of what i know from people like burning rom, tani, steve00ram360 and all the other guys with problems. (knocking on wood i haven't had any major problems).

start simple and work your way to the more difficult stuff. i started in the stereo system. now i know pretty much all there is to know about the radios and speakers and whatnot on these trucks. (spent months searching for subs and amps and boxes and all that other bull****)

JUST GET OUT AND PLAY WITH IT!!! (it's addicting... i guarentee you're bank account won't appreciate it.)
