Default raised rear bumper finally, new backup lights...

finally got around to raising my rear bumper after adding a body lift a while ago. very easy to do over all...just remove the 6 bolts holding the bumper on, measure up 2" and drill new holes, reinstall bumper. and yes you can only really raise it 2 inches, otherwise there is no room to drill holes. but the 2 inches is enough, as it looks normal again.

what it did do, however, is leave me a little gap between the bumper and hitch. so i hit up walmart, bought some $20 fog lights, and fit them on top of my hitch. they work very well there, and give me plenty of light. rather than drilling the hitch, i used double sided tape to position them (and keep em from making noise or moving) and then ran a hose clamp around the hitch to lock em in place. here's some pics, and a few of the mud i added a couple nights ago

I just fitted 2 flood lights on the back of mine too today. Instead of raising my bumper to factory height I mounted them on the bumper itself. They're just the right height so when the tailgate drops it doesn't hit them. I like them so far, we'll see how much light they throw tonight!

ya i originally only had 2 mounting tabs for the lights up front. i bolted a piece of steel stock to the tabs and drilled 4 holes for the lights. works and looks good

snork's working alright, but the airbox isn't sealed yet, so we'll see how it is when i get around to sealin it. more for looks at the moment than anything else

You can only raise the rear bumper 2"? I just took my rear bumper off today. I'm installing the 3" BL on Saturday. I havent actually looked very closely as to where im drilling the holes. Is it possible to take a couple pictures of the new mounting brackets for the rear bumper if you dont mind?

i didnt purchase mounting brackets for the rear bumper. it is just bolted right to the frame rails. all i did was take the bumper off and drill the holes as high as i could. there's only enough space on the frame rails to go up 2".
