Default what size tires?

hey everyone, i have a 95 ram with 199xxx miles on it. its mostly just a mud boggin truck, its not regeared, and pulling 35" tires. will the tranny and axle be able to handle 38"s or are they too tired? i will regear soon after i put on the 38", just want to know if it will be ok for a little while. Thanks for any advice.

I dont see a problem with running 38s, actually you may run into a bit of a prob, axle seals I go through them quite often, and I might think that mud may get into your axle through a bad axle seal, That would be the only problem i see, you might also go through hub berings faster, other than that you are good to go,

You're going to lose your ability to drive it on the highway if you go to 38s without regearing.

I would also worry about the u-joints and wheel hubs/bearings. If they've never been replaced, they won't last very long. If they've been replaced, they'll last a bit longer. Putting that large of a tire on (along with a rim to run them) will definitely stress the axles...especially the front one.
