Using Scan tool with Hypertech program
Quick question. I've read over the service manual for the Hypertech and it recommends re-installing the stock program when the truck goes in for service. Is this procedure also necessary if you are using a Snap-On or other scan tool to check for codes, timing, etc? My initial thought is that the scan tools do not have programming ability like the diagnostic tools at a dealership, so I would not have to go back to stock. BUT, I don't want to have problems if I have my local mechanic uses his Snap-On scan tool on my truck.
