Default A/C question...

ok, here it goes. when im at idle, a/c is fine. under load, or acceleration, a/c cuts out. when you let off throttle, a/c comes back on through the vents. then when you step on it, you can hear the actuator or something switch to a floor vent or something. then let off the throttle and a/c kicks back through the vents in the dash. just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem. sounds like vacuum, and i took a quick look, just didnt want to tear the dash apart til i heard from you guys.

Sounds like it's a vacuum problem. Most common cause is dry rotted vacuum lines.

Check to make sure your check valve is still operating properly. It's the most common cause of this problem. Here's the TSB for it: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1996/24-01-96a.htm

If it's not that, then you have a vacuum leak. It could be ANYWHERE in the vacuum system (in the dash AND/OR under the hood) [&:]
