1999 Ram 1500 Just Dies
the lack of guages points to the pcm or the connection. I'm not sure if you are able to position the pcm in such a way that you can put a blow dryer on it to heat it up real good, then try to start it... this would duplicate your problem and then you'd know for sure your pcm is toast...

THE ONLY CODE I GET IS CCD ON THE TOP COMPUTER WHERE THE MPG IS. ANYONE KNOWS WHAT IS CCD.

And is it time for a new keyboard? Your caps button appears to be stuck
I am having the same problem but I did not notice the No Bus on the odometer this started happening to me on Monday and I took it to the dealer yesterday they told me they do not know what it is they thing it might be the brain of the engine (computer) because it keeps on resetting itself and they are unable to get a code. They also told me the same thing that I might just have to wait for the bad part to completely break down. That sucks cause Ill have to have it towed.
All the shops I have taken it to seem to onlyguess. I finally allowed one shop to change the cam shaft sensor. Nope, few days later, shut down again. So far I'm out $360. Last week I found this forum and read peoples ideas about the PCM. I called the shop my truck was at and asked them about it. They are now telling me they want to change the ECM which, they say, is the same thing as the PCM. Are they the same thing? $730 to change it. I've not decided yet if I wantto spend that just to find that its still broken. Now, to add to my confusion, I called a parts store tosee if the pcm and ecm were one in the same and the guy there told me that what I was looking for was actually called the ECU. So my truck sits this weekend while I try to figure out what to do next.If anyone who has had this same problem was able to findthe solution, please let me know what it is. Thanks in advance!
Oh yeah, I originally was going to wait for it to go out completely like you are considering but, I've dealt with this on and off for 5 months now. Its gone as long as a month without acting up but then, like last Wednessday, I broke down 4 times about2 or 3 miles apart. The time it takes to decide to restart was anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. I've given up on waiting for it to go out, i'm not sure it ever will!
Man I took my truck to the dealer on Wed. (2/28) got it back today (3/3) and they have no idea what is wrong with it. I left 30 min after getting my truck and it stalled on me three times the start up time anged from 15 to 30 min. I called the dealer and they said to take it back in am out $100. Ill keep you guys posted on what happens on Monday.
