aerodynamic body parts
i want my truck to have good aerodynamics.
i read this article on this site https://dodgeforum.com/m_447500/tm.htm
i also read the popular mechanics article. they taped up the grill, put a bed cover on it, and plug the gap b/w the body and frame rails on the underside.
i figured taping up the grill is out of the question be cause the engine would run hot. i already have a metal toneau. lowering the truck will also help the drag coefficient by not letting air pass under the truck. aside from the not so good looks of the 95 ram, id like to get a new more aerodynamic front bubmper. does anyone know of a company that makes one?
this one was in that article and it looks like a premade bumper with the little lip added onto the bottom. does anyone make a bumper like that for the second gen ram?

i also found this http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...1&skipped=true its the top one. i could just get a peice of aluminum and extend it down with a lip
any other suggestions?

dont waste your time trying to make a ram more aero efficent. a dodge ram is a brick with wheels. you can bolt on all sorts of little doodads and crap to 'slipstream' better, but in the end its still a brick.
The SRT10 front bumper cover probably improves the aerodynamics of the 3rd gen Ram by about 15%
The rear wing on the 2004 SRT10 (the one that fits the bed frame rails without a tonneau)was claimed to decrease both lift and drag at the same time...unusual
By my own measurements
coasting a Ram down 4% and 6% even grade hills on highways
I found it was possible to improve the aerodynamics of a 2nd gen Ram
from Cd=0.42 to about 0.36
O.363 is what GM claims a new 2007 Tahoe has
I did not do anything to the underside of the Ram.
My guess is that adding flat pans to the underside in the right spot would improve aerodynamics.
There are some extremely strong "beefed up" velcro fasteners called 'Marine Grade' that could be used to hold pans on the underside.
Instead of metal, consider the strong & lightweight foam panels that are coated on one side with aluminum foil.
