thats the same sticker thats on mine hoss.. get a programmer, superchips or hypertech and you will notice a world of difference

do you program yours to 87 if using 87 octane gas.. or do you just set it up for the highest performance no matter what gas you use?

i was considering reflashing my Pcm and reprogramming to different settings to check.

 

Ive run both programs. Not really much of a difference. Sometimes depending on how hot it is, youll have to run higher octane gas even with the 87 setting, or youll get a ping.

 

so running the higher setting may start causing a ping?


im running 87 with the 87setting and i notice no ping.


actually for my truck being 7 years old, im surprised at how well she looks and runs.

 

no.. higher setting dosnt cause a ping.. with my truck, and some others that ive read about, when running the 87 program, in hot tempuratures (over 100) and under load, there might be a ping.. I experienced this, and just started running 91 octane on the 87 program.. no more ping

 

a little help here guys...i have heard of the death flash but am unsure of what it actually is. just wondering because i have started to hear a little ping myself and this post has sparked my interest
