Okay guys I installed my fipk today and started the truck up and took it for a drive, and felt no difference. Came back, waited a bit, went to start it up again and it sounded very weak and stalled so I called K&N and they said the truck needs time to adjust to the new gear and airflow (is that the PCM?). He said to let it idle for 15mins and once you drive it for 100-200 miles it should be fully adjusted. My queston is should I just reset the PCM? Would that make things quicker? And what would happen after its fully adjusted, I would actually feel more power + better sound?

Did you reset the PCM after you installed it?

You need to take off the negative battery cable and turn the key to the on position for about 20 seconds.

I noticed a difference with mine

So I should reset my PCM? I didn't touch it since the guy mentioned nothing about reseting it, he just told me it will adjust over time. Would there be any problems if I reset it? What information would be programmed into it when I reset it?

I believe it will reset over time it will just take a lot longer.

There are no problems associated with reseting other than for me it resets the clock. I have also heard on some models it gets rid of the programmed radio stations.

Whenever I reset it and start it up for the first time i usually let it idle for a while.

yeah when you (or for me at least) disconnect the negative battery terminal it resets the clock and radio stations. Do you know when its reset like a beep or something?

Just turn the key to on for about 20 seconds. That will reset it. You will be able to tell when you start it the first time.

Ah okay, I took the black terminal off and turned the key for about 30 secs and then put the terminal back on so I should be good. Only thing is I'm getting my new cat in tomorrow so I won't be able to feel the difference from the fipk alone, gunna have the new cat too.
