Default New Ram Owner

I am the new owner of a 97 Dodge Ram 5.9l, reg cab, short bed. I got it for a good price and am very happy about my ourchase.

It has a 4 inch lift on worn 265/75/r16 tires, custom bumper, and 27 inch glasspacks.

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the forum. There's a lot of really knowledgeable people on here, so if you ever have problems with your truck, don't hesitate to ask. Any of the big wigs and forum moderators are always happy to help.
Now since your truck has 4" of lift...make your first priority going way bigger than those old 265's...and let everyone know how it turns out!

$3000 for it because the driver headlight and fender are ****ed up, the bumper on the driver side is also tweaked, the linkage in the steering column is shifted over (reverse shows neutral, drive shows 2nd... etc.) and the airbag deployed... guy hit a lightpole goin like 5mph, it blue books for 6800 as is, i think i got a good deal

I'm gonna fix the fender, headlight, and maybe the linkage... if I decide to keep it I may put a paint job on it (black base with two wide yellow racing stripes, viper stripes??? i dunno) I like it alot though so I think I may end up keeping it... but we'll see how it goes. I think it needs a dual exhaust cuz right now i think it looks kinda corny with one pipe stickin out...

here is part of the bumper ( not custom i guess, just aftermarket) and fender, and also the second attachment is where airbag got deployed

actually that's a stock bumper. the previous owner just added the brush guard. doesn't do jack against poles...

you're probably going to need a new crome piece for the bumper too. i fixed mine for 225 with the lower fascia from the local junk yard. (brand new replacement bumper)

Nice truck. Doesn't look like its lifted from the 1st pic, but I'll take your word. I'd throw some 295/75's under there or 315/70's to fill that gap. I guarentee the previous owner had some bigger ones on there and took them off when he wrecked it. Little TLC and that thing would be a bad *** trail rig. Already lifted, throw a BL on there and you could run 36's or 37's. And if its a trail rig you don't have to fix the dents and scratches Just tell people its trail damage ha! Nice looking rig!

lol, actually the previous owner lives across the street from me, the poor truck only moved like 20 feet and for the tires, i was thinking of atleast 33x10.5r16 the minimum, I'm not very familiar with how much rubber you can fit and how much is too much. I come from a few jeeps and when you talked jeeps and big tires (35's or better) you were also talking axle replacment.... but as with truck you have much beefier axles than the amc20, and lack of knowledge is why i joined this forum as well
