Wet drivers floor
dude that's just crazy... must be some kind of buildup under the mat. if you have one on the passenger side... switch the mats and see if that does anything. yeah i know they are probably side specific but heck at this point anything is worth a shot IMO.
i had the same problem and could not find a trace of "trickling water" and mine was towards the right side of the drivers side floor board and it was def a leak becasue for me because it happened after it rained each time
Very, very odd, especially because it seems that the floormat is the problem?!?! I installed a new stereo about 2 months ago, and ran new wires. When i did, I ran wires under the carpet and noticed it was very soggy underneath, but not above. I was puzzled, but just chalked it up to condensation. Possibly if they are heavy duty rubber mats they are simply trapping such condensation under there and preventing evaporation? I wish I could answer your question without a questionmark but...jeez! very strange. good luck to figuring that one out.
Here is the answer, and according to the dealer it is a very common problem.
On the A/C drain, the part that exits the fire wall is a 90 degree rubber L attachment. Not much holds this damn thing on, in fact nothing but a little friction. I called the dealer asking if there was suppose to be something on the drain tube, the answer is yes that rubber 90. If it is missing the system will not drain wwhen the truck is moving........da !
Found the part 3.60, put a little silicane adhesive in it installed it and cinched it down with a tie wrap. 300 miles later, dry floors, good drain, piece of mind.
Why did it correlate to the mats..........just seemed like it did.......da.
It is easy to think it is a leak cause when it rains it is more humid, the more humidity, the more moisture the A/C takes from the ambient air, the more drainafge. everyone, check that thing.

Thought mine was just drivers side but the passengers side was soaked also. It takes 2 minutes to pop the hood, look under the accumilator (round A/C thing on firewall) and if there is no 90 degree hose on the drain...that is where your clear water in coming from.
I had this problem in my VW Touareg.....
Open up the hood and look in back of the fire wall (back of the engine compartment). There are reservoirs (pockets) there that can hold water, but are meant to be a source of draining, so that rain water doesn’t get to the motor. I had leaves in the bottom of mine that where clogging up the drain holes, thus spilling the rain water on the back side of the firewall. The rain was just spilling over, running onto the carpet from in back of the dash. This may not be the case with you, but as soon as I cleared the pine needles and old leaves... no more wet carpet!

If this happens when it rains, replace the gasket around the third brake light. I had a leak test done and they wanted to replace the whole back window, but before that, I went and replaced the gasket and have not had any more issues. Saved a bunch of $$$.
Have you checked your windshield for leaks? Had one that confused me for weeks, couldn't see the leak in the rain, but drove it in the carwash and bingo, windshield seal had a pinhole. Good luck!
