Brother, all I can tell you is that, solenoids, being active components, are supposed to make noise. Humidity rarely effects low voltage components. It never effects NO voltage (vacuum) components. I don't have a service manual open in front of me so I don't have any idea of the item that you're talking about (race is on). A picture would help like you would not BELIEVE! [8D]

Where are you at that the humidity is killing your ride? I used to be on Cape Cod so I've seen all this before.

Ok ... I don't have a '95 manual but the closest thing I can come to that looks like what you have pictured (in my '98 manual) is a Duty Cycle Evap Canister Purge Solenoid which has nothing to do with starting the truck. It regulates the rate of vapor flow from the EVAP canister (under PCM control) to the throttle body.

You can try capping off all the lines and ports from and to this and see what happens but I doubt if you'll see any difference.

The only other thing I can think of (besides what's already been mentioned) is carburator icing (happens under cool - high humidity conditions) but these trucks are fuel injected so that's crap.

Lemme think some more ...
