NICE mod !!
to answer why he shouldn't wire into the previous light.... because he did not know the current draw or the voltage of the lights. also they probably came with their own relay.
b/c the oem tiny little 20 or 30 watt light wiring was too small of a circuit. with only 20 gauge wire and a stupid little mercury tilt switch...and that along with the cab lights and cargo lamps run in a circut that is governd by a 5amp fuze... now if that circuit was designed to work good off just a 5 amp fuze,, then these monster fog lights would defentlly pop that fuze.. and if it pops that fuze and i went ahead and rigged a 20 amp fuze in there... wiring is what goes next...
Gotcha ... I missed the part where you didn't know the wattage of the new lights. Sorry. They DO look really cool though and I like where you mounted the rocker switch.
Nice job Shott !!

i left around 4 inches .. enough to pull it off and inspect fuzes... but the rocker is only 3 post spade .. defenatly not a big deal to pull the terminals off and lay them out of the way if i really need to get into the PDC... ill prolly change alot of my wiring around when i get that big stupid battery out of there and go dual remote mount redtops.. ill make up a nice aftermarket circuit holder...
thanks shott..
i've completed mine now, well until i get a new pair to put under instead, atm is only a spare fog lamp i had laying around since i dropped the other one.
works well, and with my installation, i should be able to get nearly every direction, only way to really test is tonight in the dark.

yeah i should do that right away now that its actually dark out.
i feel bad not having my engine compartment as clean as yours though
*edit
before (no flash obviously)

after

the light is sitting at 90degrees to the passengerside atm.. I can adjust it all the way to 90Degrees Drivers, and about 10-15 degrees front or back.
again, thanks for the idea, and its a wonderful addition to the engine compartment.
