i am trying to locate the keyless entry module on my ram so i can change it so i can put a new one in without haveing to buy new remotes and stuff.. my friend gave me the stock keyless entry off of his 99 ram when he had a new keyless entry and remote start put on it.. i have the two remotes and the keyless entry module from inside the overhead light compartment in the headliner but that isnt where mine is... can anyone help!!!! i also have another keyless sytem from a 99 jeep cherokee, would this one be interchangable with my ram??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

 

welcome to DF... I was looking at adding one to my 2000 and seem to recall it being located near the brake booster. not sure about the interchangeablity between the jeep & the ram... anything is possible if you have the schematics though... a shop manual would be the best thing on your truck... something that shows how the keyless entry is wired up would help alot.

so what i am understanding is that the module chip is under the hood by the brake booster, and from other messages in the dodge forum that i read that the "box" is black?? thanx to the one that responded..... any help is good...

 

yeah, I dont know if it was under the brake booster or not, I never had one. when I was looking to put one in, someone posted that it was near the brake booster and it was a small black box. what you could do is go to the top of the forum and look for the merry christmas thread and download the manual... it's for a 2001 so it'll be a little different but it may prove to be useful. the thread has been burried in another thread, i forget what the name is... but it's up there @ the top, tacked.
