alighnment... alighnment could give you a shimmy and still can drive out of it... normally you dont .. but sometimes...

 

I have tried rotating the tires front to back and still get the shimmy. so unless all of the tires are out of balance I dont think this is the problem. I will have to look into the alignment suggestion. It has been a while since it has been aligned so it couldn't hurt.

 

my neons alignment was off by 1 deg toe on the pass side.. the drivers side was dead on and it shimmied something feirce from 20 to 45-55...just make sure you take it to a good shop... i first too my neon to a midas .. the ase cert. tech drove the car onto a 2 post lift.. lifted it in the air... used his one good eye ( one eye would look at you when he was talking..the other would be looking in the sky for airplanes... i think the one eye was fake and he really just wanted to look at airplanes) and held up his thumb to the front tires... dropped it off the lift pulled it out and said my alighnment was good... and wanted to charge me 66bux... i laffed at his goofy eyed face and left with out paying... thats why i always give techs like that a spare key to drive into the bay with and i keep my regular key ring with me...

get your alighnment looked at.. by a shop with techs that have 2 good eyes and a working alighnment machine

I havent got the tires balanced yet but I know my allignment has to be off becuase when I am driving straight the steering wheel is cocked to the right. I made an appointment with the dealer I got it from cuz I have a warrenty on it. So I will have them check all that out and I will keep everybody informed. Thanks for all your helpful ideas.
