when i used to detail in highschool customers were always bringing back there cars and trucks to have the dealer sticker removed.. we never had a heatgun but used razorblades alot... and when i was starting out the guy that was training me told me to use really saopy watter to help lube the blade.. makes it easier NOT to cut into the paint... just figured id throw that out there.. forgot earlier

I believe Black and Decker makes a tool to take off badges and stuff like that. I used a hair dryer to heat it up and then used a piece of fishing line to cut the badge off. The black and decker tool looks kinda like a grinder but its made of rubber. Takes off the adhesive and does no damage to the paint. Kinda expensive I think but maybe make some money back doing it for your friends. Also make sure that if your wife plans on trying to help you by finishing the job when you arent home, you explain that a paint scraper is the last thing you use. Bless her heart she tries. HAHA. Thankfully she noticed enough to stop before she got too far. Nothing a little touch up paint couldnt fix.

Just had mine removed by a friend at a body shop (reputable). Hairdryer. Said it was the safest way. Will probably need a bit of polishing and wax to get rid of ghosting. Looks better without the badges plus anyone should know it's a Dodge and who drives a full size 2WD PU anyway.

Im finishing this up on my truck right now. The pin stripes are being bitc#es to me.. One will come off perfectly, the whole thing.. the next one will tear every 2.5 centimeters and anger me greatly! I think im going to Leave the DODGE and 4x4 on for now, but my truck will look 10X better with no pin stripes or badges.

Spent most of yesterday de-badging my rig. I ordered a full set of 3rd gen emblems that I plan on painting and then applying this weekend. I had alot of wax buildup and dry nastyness on the door emblems. It finally took the blunt end of a squeege and some good elbow grease to get the bulk of it off, then goo gone and some scratch remover to level the paint. Still on a black truck the ghosting is no too strong but I know it's there. Hopefully when i get the new emblems on, they will take away from the ghosting. Anyone know a good way to alleviate the ghosting?

thanks.

You know, it's been so long since I saw one of those, I forgot about the ram's head ornament. Would be a nice touch.
