Default V10 trouble

So first let me say what my truck is 01 quad cab long bed 2500 4x4 v10 auto. I let my gf drive it all week and she calls me up today saying the truck was making some weird noises. So I go to where she is at and fire the truck up and its knocking like hell. I shut it off and call AAA. So I ask her what happened she said that the check gauges light came on and there was no oil pressure, I ask her how long she drove it that way she said about 5 miles untill she could pull of to a rest stop. So what I would like to know is how much would a bottom end rebuild cost me? I just want to get the truck running normal so I can get a descent trade in value for it around $7000 or so

I had my oil pump pack it in on my V-10 while I was on a trip 11 hours from home. Just got word the other day the $6500 rebuilt motor I got with less than 38,000 KMs on it is not warrentied.

When my gauge came on, I pulled over and shut er down. I cooked all the bearings, took the oil pump out which inturn wrecked the front cover.

Im not a happy camper. I hope your luck is better than mine

ssrdo, not real sure on the v10,on my 5.9 v8, if i just figure in the bearings and machine work on the crank, plus gaskets and new rings i think i had around 500-600 dollars in mine. i wouldn't think 2 more cylinders would add too much more. if you are going to have some one else do the work including pulling the motor you better figure at least another grand or more.
