Default fuel flow

I was running through my tank of gas when I noticed that my tank virtually was zapped in 100 miles it says. I checked the MPG on a fill up today and I only got 9 -10 mpg this trip. I normally average 14. I have no check engine light on but the little metal tab in the fuel tank where you insert the nozzle is bent. is this causing my excessive fuel flow problems? 5.9L motor

Metal tab bent like if you tried to shove something in there, like a siphon?

Maybe excessively flowing out.

Sorry, that was a tongue-in-cheek answer. What I was getting at was someone may have "borrowed" your fuel. If you've never siphoned gas before, first, good for you, it's not very nice to do. Sometimes you have a problem trying to remove the siphon hose from the filler neck. The metal tab catches on the hose when you pull it out. Possibly this is the condition you see now.
You are talking about the metal tab in the filler neck, correct?

It wouldn't take much missing gas to drop your fuel average number. Just throwing it out as a possibility.

How big is the tank? 100 miles to empty is probably alot worse than 9 or 10 mpg.
