rear brake shoe questions
As you look through the inspection hole, I believe you should be turning the adjuster up, but you would want to insert another screwdriver on the top of the adjuster to push the adjusting lever outward to realease the star wheel, otherwise you'll be fighting that darn thing. That's the way I do it, and it spins easily.
when you get the adjuster dialed down... put the rearend up on jack stands..tires off... start the truck and put it in drive... for some reason the drum works itself off... if it doesnt apply the brakes a little and the shoes rubbing against the drum work themselves off.. pretty neat trick... just ogtta be REALLY CAREFULL!!! for obvious reasons...sure beats wacking it with a sledge.... again i gotta say do it carefully and chock the front wheels too
You forgot the part about leaving a lug or two threaded partway on ... or do you LIKE chasing your drums down the street?
Oh, that's right ... you like EVERYTHING about drums.
