Default looking for some advice

Hi all, I have a 99 ram 1500 slt. I have been having problems with the front axle since I bought the truck off my buddy. He has rebuilt the passenger side of the axle 3 times. Now it's leaking and grinding again!! The last time he rebuilt it he replaced everything from the pumpkin out.

My question is has anyone else had this problem? I am lost as to whats causing this to happen. The truck isnt used for work or 4 wheeling.

I don't want to rebuild this thing for the forth time just to have it break again 3 months from now.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I get an aftermarket complete axle? Can I rebuild this axle with better aftermarket parts?
Is it possible the the axle itself is defective?

Thanks all for any and all suggestions. I just don't know what coarse of action to take on this problem to remedy it once and for all

sounds to me like either the bearings on the carrier are warn out and causeing the shafts to move around alittle and destroy the seal, it could also be the same thing but the wheel bearing.

agree... or the shafts are scorn and not allowing the new seals to seal correctly... not sure if the shafts themselves were replaced

also a bent tube would cause havoc like this... did he or you wheel it hard?

shafts were replaced. The truck has never been wrecked or off road. As far as I know the truck has never taken a hard hit to the axle to bend the tube. I know my buddy babied it and so do I.

I was thinking the same thing about the tube. I know last time around everything from the pumpkin out was replaced. That was at the end of May beginning of June.
This will be the forth time this thing has had to be rebuilt on the passenger side.
Is there anyway to have the axle checked for defects or bent tubes? Is it even worth doing? When I tear it apart this time I want to check in inners in the pumpkin closely if I find no problems there then I will have to find out a way to get the axle checked for defects or bends. Can a dealership do that? Or should I take it to a specialty shop?

Any of you guys know an online aftermarket sites for replacement parts for this front axle? it's a dana44 I believe. If I have to rebuild this thing for the forth time I would like to get the best parts made. Any help is great. I appreciate the responses
