State Inspections
Curious about other states vehicle inspections. Here in WV if anything stock (suspension, exhaust, etc) has been changed we are required to get what is known as a "Modified" inspection as opposed to the regular kind. Only certain qualified stations can do them and it costs $36.00 as opposed to usual $12.00. I was planning a level lift and an exhaust upgrade but either one will kick me into a new category of hassle and expense so maybe not. Also, anyone else in here have to switch out tires at inspection time because they protrude too far beyond the fenders? I have a spare set of barely legal tread on junker wheels that get pulled out once a year. Spend the rest of the year waiting to get lit up for my "illegal inch".
we have that 'illegal inch' law here too, but its not really enforced unless you're being a complete retard driving.
same as we are not allowed the sidefront windows tinted.
or neon lights on the front or back (only amber or red)
if a cop pulls you over for a MVA infraction, you usually have about 7 days to get it fixed.
the easiest way to fix the illegal inch is to put fender flares on.,.. I dont want to do that, i like the bare rubber sticking out., up here, 1 in 6 trucks have illegal inch tires. not many with the flares. and 1 in about 4 are lifted.
Gotta love the oilpatch.

Sorry for your inspection rules, but here in Mississippi, if your headlights come on, your horn honks and your wipers go up and down, you're good to go. And, it still only costs five bucks. I guess if they charge more for the inspection, they have to check for more things wrong. I think I might be willing to pay a little more for an inspection to help get some of the true junkers off the roads.
in maryland from the ground to the bottom of your rear or front bumper it cant be anymore then 31 inches.. also we have that illegal inch thing too.. they dont allow anymore then 1 tread length past the wheel well.. but you can get away with it if you just dont act stupid.. come inspection time you better be ready to put your stock tires back on though
man that must really suck cause in oklahoma we dont have inspections at all
