Default Soon to be leaving...

Well after a year and a half my time here has been cut short. After a nasty storm with softball sized hail my truck suffered severly. To get the truck fixed to my standards (i'm very picky) It would cost a tad over $10,000. The insurance agent claims the hail damage is only about $3,000. I'm not going to put $7,000 out of my pocket into only body work on a 97 with 124k miles on it. So i've decided to get a new truck. I'll still be part of the forum, i'll just be moving to the 3rd gen. section. I'm buying a hemi. So thanks to all that have helped i greatly appreciate it. I just can't wait to get in the hemi. Hopefull it will come soon next month!

Really sorry to hear. I know all about hail damage. My truck's hood still has hard water spots from last year.

Post pics of your new truck. Take it easy.

Wow, $10,000 worth of damage?! That is crazy! We gotta see pics of that! Sorry to hear about the loss. Atleast you will be getting a new truck. I like the 3rd gen trucks just as much as the 2nd gen but I had to go with what was in my budget. I figure as long as its a Ram you cant go wrong.

Well i'm not getting a diesel because thats still a little out of my budget. I was actually at a dodge dealer for a couple hours on saturday and they offered me a pretty fair price for my 2nd gen the way it is. I found an 04 hemi, black with a spray in bedliner, and a bit of chrome on it that was 19.900 but there was a typo in an ad and i brought it in and showed them. The ad said the truck was only 15,900 so now if i want it they have to give it to me for 15900. So tomorrow i call the bank and find out what i can do. I'm not sure how it will go though, i still havent gotten the check from the insurance company which will pay off the rest of the loan on that truck. Also the hail damage wasnt 10,000 it was around 6500 but if any of you remember i was backed into a while ago and the 10000 covers that a a whole new paint job(insurance will only cover the damged sections and i dont want a patchy paint job)

almost every ad states in fine print 'not responsible for typographical errors'

did you actually talk to them about the price? i doubt they are going to give it to you for that price if its a typo.
